    • Suggest reasons for the differences shown between the two pyramids
  • look at the two population pyramids for Angola and Japan 2010
    • Assess the different problems each country might face in the future
    • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using total population figures rather than percentage figures on the horizontal axis?

a) Use the different sections of this page to read about the UK Census (What it is, how it is carried out)
b) Go to Ashley Ward which is the area of Bristol which contains Montpelier. Use the links on this page to see what kind of data is available.
c) What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the census data to help you get information about the characteristics of urban areas, compared to carrying out primary fieldwork.
